The fretless electric bass was popularized during the 1970’s, when jazz fusion was exploding all over the world and the electric fretless Fender bass found itself out in front as a featured solo instrument. Bassists everywhere began removing the frets from their Fender basses, filling in the slots and making their own fretless basses. Fender began to manufacture fretless Precision basses during this time as well. Squier is pleased to present their first fretless Precision Bass as a fine addition to their Vintage Modified series. This P Bass features an old-school 3-Color Sunburst finish on a contoured agathis body, topped off with a tortoise-shell pickguard to complete the retro-vibe of this instrument.The Vintage Modified Precision Bass Fretless is equipped with a maple neck with “modern C” profile. The fingerboard is carved from ebonol and features white position markers to aide with intonation. ŒæThe slick fretless playing surface will inspire you to venture into new territory and carve out new sonic paths.The Squier Vintage Modified P Bass also incorporates the knockout punch of a Fender-designed split single-coil Precision Bass pickup that will satisfy modern players and vintage buffs alike. Chrome Vintage-Style hardware includes a 4-Saddle bridge, two “dome”-style control knobs (master volume, master tone), and vintage-style tuners. Case not included.Features:
